Group Sessions

Group sessions help children develop social skills, emotional regulation, and confidence in a supportive environment. They encourage turn-taking, cooperation, and peer learning, while also providing a safe space to practice interactions and build flexibility. For children who find social settings challenging, group sessions offer a gentle, structured way to grow and connect with others through play.

Minecraft Social Therapy Groups

Building connections, confidence, and communication - one block at a time.

Our Minecraft Social Therapy Groups are a fun, engaging way for children and young people to build essential social and emotional skills in a safe, supported environment. Using the familiar and creative world of Minecraft, sessions are designed to help participants explore teamwork, communication, and self-regulation while doing something they love.

These small group sessions are facilitated by our trained therapists and Allied Health Assistants who gently guide children through play-based challenges that promote:

✦ Teamwork & cooperation – working together toward shared goals

✦ Communication skills – practising turn-taking, listening, and expressing ideas

✦ Emotional regulation – managing frustration and handling challenges in a supportive setting

✦ Problem-solving & flexibility – adapting to new situations and thinking creatively

✦ Confidence & friendship-building – developing self-esteem and genuine social connections

Who can benefit?

Children and teens who:

✦ Find it difficult to make or maintain friendships

✦ Experience social anxiety or challenges within group settings

✦ Benefit from structure and guided social interaction

✦ Are neurodivergent, including children with autism or ADHD, and thrive within play-based environments

✦ Enjoy Minecraft and learn best through interactive, hands-on experiences

Why Minecraft?

Minecraft is more than just a game, it can be a powerful therapeutic tool. It offers a world where children feel confident, creative, and in control. Within this space, they can safely explore social interactions, practice coping strategies, and experience success , all while having fun!

Each session is guided by therapeutic goals, ensuring that what happens in the game translates into real-life growth, connection, and confidence.
