NDIS & Thriving Kids Information
At Play and Beyond, we understand that navigating the NDIS and finding the right supports for your child can sometimes feel overwhelming.
We are committed to helping children, young people and families access meaningful, individualised therapeutic supports that nurture development, emotional wellbeing and everyday participation.
Accessing Our Services Through NDIS
Play and Beyond welcomes self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants, where appropriate funding is available.
Depending on the participant's individual plan, goals and current NDIS funding rules, our services may include:
Child-Centred Play Therapy – Supporting emotional expression, regulation, confidence and wellbeing through the therapeutic power of play.
Early Childhood Intervention – Supporting children's development, participation and everyday skills through family-centred approaches.
Creative Arts Support – Encouraging self-expression, creativity, emotional awareness and skill development.
Other Therapeutic and Capacity Building Supports – Individualised supports aligned with participant goals and our team's professional scope.
Access to services using NDIS funding depends on the participant's individual circumstances, available funding and applicable NDIS requirements.
Families are welcome to contact us to discuss our services and whether they may be suitable for their child's needs.Many of our supports may be accessed through your child or teen’s NDIS plan where funding is available.
What if my child doesn't have NDIS?
Your child does not need an NDIS plan to access Play and Beyond.
We also welcome privately funded families who are seeking therapeutic and developmental support for their children.
If you have concerns about your child's development, the NDIS Early Childhood Approach can help families with children younger than nine access information, early connections and appropriate supports.
Children do not necessarily need an NDIS diagnosis or plan to receive early connections support.

Thriving Kids Update
The Australian Government is progressively introducing Thriving Kids, an initiative designed to improve access to early developmental supports for children aged eight and under with developmental delay or autism.
The initiative aims to help families access appropriate information, guidance and developmental supports outside the NDIS, where suitable.
Thriving Kids is being introduced gradually, with additional supports and services expected to become available over time.
Existing NDIS access arrangements remain in place during the transition period, with changes planned from January 2028.
As the program develops, we encourage families to refer to official government information for the latest updates about eligibility, available supports and how to access them.
